A brochure people finish, not bin

Brochure design services for UK businesses, mostly smaller SMEs, from a Nottingham studio that also designs the brands and websites those brochures represent offline. Every page is planned around your real copy and imagery, then handed over as press-ready files set up for the binding you choose.

Folded, stitched or bound

The format follows how it gets used

A brochure is an object before it is a design. Brochure design in the UK needs the format scoped to how the piece is handed over and read, then a layout built for that job, not a generic template.

  • Folded leave-behinds

Bi-fold and tri-fold pieces for sales meetings, site visits and hand-to-hand distribution, short enough to scan, structured so the offer survives being pocketed and read again later.

  • Saddle-stitched booklets

Compact multi-page booklets for exhibitions, product ranges and service overviews, spreads sequenced so readers follow the story without losing the thread mid-stand.

  • Perfect-bound brochures

Longer documents for capability statements, investor packs and brand books, hierarchy and pacing that hold attention across dozens of pages without reading like a slide deck sent to print.

Who reaches for a brochure

Built for teams that still need something to leave behind

  • Sales teams

A leave-behind after meetings and site visits, with a hierarchy prospects actually remember.

  • Exhibitions & events

Compact booklets built for busy stands and hand-to-hand distribution when attention is scarce.

  • Brand rollouts

Brochures that match the identity and website already designed, with no visual drift between offline and online.

Brochure scope

When a brochure is the right format

Brochure designers in Nottingham, UK-wide. We scope folded, stitched or bound formats before layout, depending on how the piece is handed over.

Formats run from folded leave-behinds to saddle-stitched booklets and perfect-bound documents. If you only need a single-sheet handout, see leaflet & flyer design. If the identity is not settled yet, brand identity comes first. Browse the full range at print services.

From brief to press-ready

How a brochure comes together

Brochures take longer than a flyer because content and structure have to settle before layout starts. Typical projects run two to four weeks once copy and imagery arrive, page count and revision rounds move that either way.

We agree format, page count, audience and distribution. You supply copy and imagery, or we scope photography direction, so the grid is planned around real content, never placeholder lorem.

What a quote covers

Three ways brochure projects usually scope

There's no published price list, every brochure is quoted to format, page count and how ready your content is. This is what each level of scope typically includes.

Folded piece Quoted Bi-fold or tri-fold leave-behind
Multi-page booklet Quoted Saddle-stitched booklet with a clear story arc
Brochure suite Quoted Longer document plus matching sibling pieces
Custom editorial layout
Print-ready CMYK files
Paper & finish advice
Multi-spread pacing
Photography direction
Matching sibling print pieces Cards, flyers or inserts designed as one system

Template or studio?

A print-shop add-on, or a layout designed as one document

A DIY template or a printer's free design tool is faster and cheaper. Here's what changes when a studio designs the brochure.

Templates / print-only suppliers

berlew design studio

Generic grid with your logo dropped in
Custom hierarchy built around your real content
Rarely checked against your wider identity
Designed inside your brand, or extending it if it's new
Files often bounced back for bleed or font fixes
CMYK, bleed and embedded fonts, checked to your supplier's spec
Stock photography, or whatever you upload
Art direction for shoots, or treatment of existing imagery
No one accountable for how it reads as a sequence
Spreads paced as one document, not disconnected pages
A separate supplier for the site the brochure points to
The same studio designs the website the brochure sends people to

More than brochures

The brochure is usually one piece of a bigger kit

Most brochure briefs arrive alongside the cards, flyers, identity or website they sit next to. Pick the format that matches the job, or start at the print hub if you're still deciding.

Brochure design FAQs

The questions we hear most before a brochure project starts.

How much does brochure design cost?

We quote per project once we know your format, page count and how ready your content is. Scope ranges from a simple folded piece to a multi-page perfect-bound document. We confirm a fixed quote before any work starts, no per-page design charge.

What brochure formats do you design?

Bi-fold and tri-fold leave-behinds, saddle-stitched booklets, perfect-bound documents and bespoke formats, scoped to your content and how the piece will be distributed.

Why does my brochure page count have to be a multiple of four?

Saddle-stitched booklets are made from folded sheets stapled at the spine, and one folded sheet is four pages. So the total has to divide by four, 8, 12, 16 and so on. We plan the page count with you early so the structure fits the binding.

Do you write brochure copy?

We structure content around your supplied copy and advise on length and hierarchy. Full copywriting can be scoped separately if you need it.

Can you match our existing brand guidelines?

Yes. We work within your identity system, or extend it if the brochure is part of a wider rebrand, so print and screen stay consistent.

Will you send files straight to our printer?

We supply press-ready PDFs and can liaise with your chosen supplier on technical specs, stock and proof rounds. We focus on design and can recommend trusted UK print partners if you need one.

How long does brochure design take?

Typically two to four weeks, depending on page count, revision rounds and how quickly copy and imagery are supplied.

Can ongoing brochure updates go on subscription?

Yes. Once templates exist, regular updates and variants suit our unlimited graphic design subscription.
